Working at Nant y Walch Barn
We are looking for a Special Person to work with us at Nant y Walch Barn and to manage our Events, Community and Culture venue and self catering accommodation.
We need somebody who is prepared to invest their time and energy to contribute to the success of a space which gives people the opportunity to reflect, to enjoy peace, to be nourished and entertained and to celebrate the special moments in their lives.
We try to do this within a recycled 16th Century cow barn heated and powered by fossil free energy coming from the Cambrian Mountains
Initially the work will be part time (approx 17.5 hours per week) and will consist of a mixture of management and administrative tasks tempered with some practical work ensuring that the building and grounds are well maintained and cared for. The management and administration aspects of the role include taking bookings, booking management (using proprietary software) and liaising with customers (as well as planning new events) for both NyW Barn and Cwm Irfon Lodge Cottages. Managing staff and arranging and agreeing cleaning and gardening rotas

Pop up restaurants
We are looking for someone who is inquisitive, motivated and prepared to be an active member of a small team contributing ideas and energy to the future development of NyW Barn and Cwm Irfon Cottages.
We are happy if you wish to work flexibly (although you must be present at some specific times Like events)
Remuneration will be based initially on a part time post (17.5 hrs per week) paid at the current National living wage of up to £10.90 (£9,919 pa plus National Insurance and Pension contributions).
Hours of work can be flexible to fit in with your (and our) needs. It will include some weekend work.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake specific training so that they can, for example, be the designated responsible person at an event, work behind the bar or supervise the preparation of food.
As events and activities increase there will be an opportunity for the post holder, if they wish, to increase their income in line with their responsibility and time commitment. This is an opportunity to develop a role and job which interests you whilst at the same time contributing to the cultural, economic and environmental wellbeing of the local community
